“It’s good, I did a good time trial despite the route and the heat. I knew that I had done the Côte de Domancy well but that I had gotten stuck on the false flat just following, that’s where I lost 15-20 seconds. You can clearly see that on this portion the climbers end up much stronger than me and that I lacked a bit of strength. When you’re 80 kilos it’s not easy (laughs)
I had the blue-white-red jersey (French time trial champion, editor’s note) so it always feels good to be encouraged. I fought until the end but I had this little wavering. It was a good time but not necessarily for me. »

“I’m not too happy. I expected it a bit but it was harder than I thought. The day following a rest day, it’s never easy. I always have more head in the mountain stages than in a stage like today but it’s a good effort to break free this Wednesday.
Everyone is thinking regarding Wednesday’s stage (between Saint-Gervais and Courchevel). As everyone is very tired, many runners have taken the opportunity to recover over the past two days. I did the time at 80-90% but I felt that I didn’t have good feelings. It was also very heavy and very hot. I’m very happy to have changed bikes during the time trial, I was more comfortable on the climb. »

“I had good feelings, I managed that well. I wanted to set a good time, when we recognized it, I thought it was a time that I liked. The crowd made it possible for me to give it my all. There were a lot of people on the Domancy climb. Cycling is still a popular sport, thanks to all the spectators.
My third weeks are always the best. But tomorrow is the queen stage of the Tour. I recovered well on Monday, we will have to respond now. Will I have a voucher to go in the breakaway? It would be good if I managed to interfere to regain time or even to win the stage because with Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar it would be complicated to play at altitude. »
