Vienna – The situation on the labor market deteriorated slightly in July this year compared to the previous year. In a long-term comparison, however, unemployment is still at a low level. 310,582 people were registered with the Public Employment Service (AMS) as unemployed or in training – almost 14,000 more than in July 2022, as the AMS announced on Tuesday. Of these, 60,355 were in training measures. The unemployment rate rose from 5.6 to 5.9 percent. Before that, unemployment was last lower than it is now in July 2012, according to the labor market report from the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
