Bern – Jakob Schubert qualified for the lead semifinals at the World Climbing Championships in a convincing manner. On Thursday, the Tyrolean shared first place with medal candidates Sorato Anraku (JPN) and Sam Avezou (FRA), who climbed in another group. “I have brutal self-confidence in the lead,” said Schubert before the medal decision on Sunday. “It gives me a lot of motivation because I have the feeling that I haven’t reached 100 percent yet.”
