Barbara Chillas, owner of the Mouton Noir Lainerie store, located in Trois-Pistoles in Bas-Saint-Laurent, announces the holding of a brand new activity for its knitter customers. It is a “knitting-jasette” in the form of a mini-cruise on the St. Lawrence River. About thirty knitters will be invited to take their place aboard Legacy 1 from La Compagnie de Navigation des Basques (photo) to take part in a collective knitting session, under the theme “The fun cruise”, where tips, tricks and secrets of knitters will be exchanged. The event, a world first it seems, will take place on Monday, September 4. The tide schedule will allow the group to take a break of a few hours on the other side, where the participants will be received at the Poissonnerie Les Escoumins restaurant before resuming the return crossing. Information and registration on the Mouton Noir Lainerie Facebook page, at 581 645-8777 or at the boutique located at 370, rue Jean-Rioux in Trois-Pistoles.

This is the title of the exhibition which is held until October at the Cégep Limoilou library and which tells the history of the neighborhood in twelve documentary tableaux. Produced entirely, as session work, by four students of Martine Dumais, professor of history at the establishment, the exhibition reveals the Limoilou district, its history and its evolution, through photographs and archive images. Originally from Charlesbourg, the four humanities students at Cégep Limoilou, Liliane Roy, Hubert Adam-Marsolais, Cedrick Tailor et Milan Simard (photo), were also able to count on the advice of Daniel Papillon and Gilles Gallichan, members of the Société historique de Limoilou, throughout their project, of which they were the prime contractors. The exhibition is presented on the mezzanine of the library (photo) during normal opening hours.
