Berlin – The pressure from the German federal government on the deputy Bavarian Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger and thus also on Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) is growing. “It is now up to Markus Söder whether he wants to be head of government of a state-supporting party in the middle, or whether he wants someone in the cabinet who is open to right-wing populism,” said Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (Greens) of the newspaper “Augsburg General” according to the preliminary report. “It’s a question of political attitude, not political tactics.”
