In another case of the saga of AirTags who “saved the day”, the police of Nashville (in the US state of Tennessee) was able to use Apple’s tracker to help locate a stolen vehicle — and, of course, the suspected driver.

According to information from WSMV4, the victim informed the police that his car, a Dodge Charger Scat Pack model, was stolen on August 3 and, through AirTag, it was possible to verify that the vehicle stopped at a barber shop in the city; the 18-year-old suspect parked and entered the establishment, at which point officers arrested him.

Once in custody, police discovered that he was carrying a small electronic device that allows access to the car and control of some functionality without the vehicle’s physical key. Also found with him were a screwdriver, a gun, a digital scale and several small plastic bags containing drugs, according to police.

The suspect now faces multiple charges, including vehicle theft and possession of a weapon.
