In hallux valgus, also known as bunion, the first metatarsal bone shifts outwards: the forefoot becomes wider, which doesn’t look nice and can also cause pain. This condition was recently treated twice with surgery at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut, USA. A product from Upper Austria was used in the operations: the “Shark Screw” bone screw from Surgebright from Lichtenberg.
