The Greens receive Valenciennes this Saturday (7 p.m.). While the transfer window has just ended, will Laurent Batlles be tempted to start his latest recruit Florian Tardieu? The attack might also change its face…

The absents

The coach made the choice to wait until following the transfer window to give his group. Several players were in the uncertainty of a possible last minute departure. Anyway, Ibrahima Wadji will be absent. The Senegalese striker is suffering from an injury which was to keep him out of action for 4 weeks. It should not take long to resort and start individual training. It might be operational following the break.

Also, Boubacar Fall is still unavailable and struggling to return following his knee injury. Finally, the transfer window saw the departures of Niels Nkounkou, Mathys Saban, Yanis Lhery. These three will therefore logically not be in the group which receives Valenciennes.

The probable eleven

Larsonneur holder

Unstoppable in the Saint-Etienne cages, Gautier Larsonneur will wear the Saint-Etienne jersey for the 26th time in his career. Indisputable and undisputed holder, the ex-Brestois will try to keep his clean sheet. A feat that has never happened to him this season yet! Etienne Green will logically take part on the bench as since the start of the championship. The hierarchy seems clearly established.

A defense that connects?

ASSE delivered a rather serious game defensively once morest Annecy. Unfortunately, the team was surprised on a pool shot which cost a penalty. Apart from during the last quarter of an hour, ASSE has only very rarely been put in danger. As a result, Laurent Batlles should renew the same trio in defense.

Only a doubt exists regarding captain Anthony Briançon. Absent from the session this Thursday, he was simply preserved or he had a physical problem. The lack of communication from the group prevents us for the moment from answering our question. Nevertheless, we think he will start with Dylan Batubinsika on his right and Léo Petrot on his left. With, we hope, the first clean sheet of the season for the Forez rearguard.

An environment with or without Tardieu?

This is the real question of the upcoming game. It is obvious that the arrival of Florian Tardieu will allow Batlles to have a reliable and trustworthy relay on the ground. The two men know each other by heart from the Trojan era and it is hard to see how the 31-year-old man is not going to become a centerpiece of this workforce quickly.

As a result, we are opting for a surprise tenure of the ex-Trojan in a sentinel role. In addition, we believe that Lamine Fomba and Benjamin Bouchouari will be established in a torchbearer role in a diamond environment. Dylan Chambost will occupy the role of number 10. His mission will be to fuel the Saint-Etienne attacks. Scorer in Annecy, he will also have the will to continue to take care of his statistics.

A new trio?

ASSE will field a new attacking trio. Ibrahim Sissoko will be at the forefront of the Saint-Etienne attack. Decisive passer, the Stéphanois striker missed the winning penalty once morest Annecy which he himself had obtained. He will certainly have the will to redeem himself for his 3ᵉ match at Geoffroy Guichard as an ASSE player.

On the left flank, Stéphane Diarra, new recruit arrived from FC Lorient will be aligned. Author of 60 good minutes once morest Annecy, he will logically continue with a second tenure. Finally, the incumbent Mathieu Cafaro will lead the right lane. Absent once morest Annecy, he returns with the firm intention of finally being decisive this season when he has not yet been.

On the bench (choose from): Etienne Green, Mickael Nadé, Dennis Appiah, Thomas Monconduit, Maxence Rivera, Karim Cisse, Aimen Moueffek, Gaëtan Charbonnier
