A drunk driver hit a 15-year-old moped driver. This was thrown far forward.
On Monday around 8:35 p.m. a traffic accident occurred on the Salzburg Alpine Road between a 15-year-old moped driver and a 37-year-old car driver from Austria. The car driver was driving on the Alpine Road from Anif towards the city of Salzburg behind the moped driver . The moped driver reduced his speed in order to allow a trolleybus coming from the right to move out, which resulted in a rear-end collision for unknown reasons and the car driver hit the 15-year-old from behind. As a result of the impact, the moped handlebar was thrown forward regarding 50 meters and suffered unspecified injuries. The moped driver was wearing a helmet. There was significant damage to both vehicles. An alcohol test carried out showed a value of 0.00 per mille on the moped handler. However, the alcohol test for the car driver was positive with a value of 1.64 per mille. The driving license was temporarily withdrawn and further driving was prohibited. A report will be made to the responsible district administrative authority and the public prosecutor’s office.
