Orlandina Basket is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with striker Gian Carlo Favali for the 2023/2024 season. Born in Priverno, in the province of Latina, on May 10, 2000, Gian Carlo Favali started playing basketball at Basket Terracina, before moving to Stella Azzurra Roma at the age of 14. After a season on the Adriatic Riviera with Rimini Crabs, he moved to Ferrara, where he stayed for two seasons, shuttling between the youth sector and the first team and playing in Championship C Silver during the season 2017/18 and in the C Gold championship during the 2018/19 season.
In the 2019/20 season came his first experience in Serie B with the jersey of Ozzano, where in 9 minutes of average use he scored 3 points and grabbed 2 rebounds per game. During the 2020/21 season, he responded to the call of Chieti, in Serie A2, where he was employed for almost 10 minutes of average use and scored 2 points per game.
He moved to Piedmont the following year, ready for a star season with Serie B side Langhe Roero, but his adventure ended immediately, in mid-September, due to a bad left knee injury during of the second Supercoppa match in Vigevano.
Forced to take a long break and fully recovered at the start of the 2022/23 season, Favali trained with Latina to move to Lombardy C Gold in January, at Pizzighettone, the team with which he won the championship, contributing to an average of 7, 3 points per game.

Comment from sporting director Antonio Sapone: “To complete our external offer, we were looking for a ductile player on both sides of the pitch and in line with the technical and character framework with which this team was designed and built, and we believe we have found these features in Gian Carlo Favali.
He is a young man with excellent physical and athletic skills, capable of covering several roles and guaranteeing defensive intensity on players with different characteristics. His growth suffered a significant setback due to a serious injury that forced him to miss the entire 2021/22 season, but he is now fully recovered and has shown a great desire to make himself available and work to earn the ‘space that coach Bolignano will decide to give him.’
