The 2022 provincial elections sideshow produced by the Noovo Info digital team is in the running in the “Excellence in innovation” category, while journalist Louis-Philippe Bourdeau is nominated in the “Videojournalism” category for his portfolio of reports .

On the sidelines of the provincial election night, Noovo Info presented its third edition of the Parallel Show, hosted live by Émilie Clavel on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and at Noovo.Info.

The special show notably lifted the veil behind the scenes of election night, with the collaboration of cultural columnist and comedian Tranna Wintour, as well as Dr. Claudel Pétrin-Desrosiers, head of planetary health at the Department of Family Medicine and emergency medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal (UdeM).

The Side Show looked at the forgotten issues and will analyze the campaign before the counting of the polls.

Louis-Philippe Bourdeau carried out several major files on behalf of Noovo Info, including his coverage of the turning point in the first year of the Russian invasion in Ukraine (Noovo Info in Ukraine). This report also earned him a place among the finalists in the Grand Reportage category for the 2022 Judith-Jasmin prize from the Professional Federation of Journalists of Quebec (FPJQ) alongside videographer Sébastien Boivin.

The winners will be announced on October 21 at the RTDNA Canada National Awards Gala at the Sheraton Center Hotel in Toronto.

Canada’s RTDNA stands as a voice for digital journalists and newsroom managers across the country in its work to promote freedom of expression and journalistic independence in the public interest.
