Every person has an image of the future or a feeling for what their own life and the world should look like in the future. Cohesion, hope, joy and courage are major factors for this vision of the future, which is, however, influenced by social challenges, worries and uncertainty. Songs can express, communicate, touch, influence moods, provide security, support and orientation.
Die Culture.Region.Lower Austria warmly invites Lower Austria’s songwriters, musicians, authors and lyricists to express their thoughts and feelings for a future worth living in a song written and composed by themselves.
WHAT IS WANTED?
We are looking for original compositions on the topic of “a future worth living”. The works may contain different musical and lyrical characteristics and must be assigned to the songwriter genre.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We invite people aged 15 and over who have roots in Lower Austria (either born in Lower Austria or live in Lower Austria) and would like to share their feelings and thoughts for a future worth living. Bands and groups are also invited to participate.
SUBMISSION
Send your own composition (playing time from min. 2:30 to max. 3:45 minutes) including a short description of the person as an audio or video file by 6. October 2023 to liedermacher@ kulturregionnoe.at. Submissions of individual texts or melodies are not possible.
EVALUATION
A top-class jury of experts (musicians, singers, composers, publishers) evaluates the entries. The performers of the 25 best contributions will be invited to a casting.
FINALE
As part of a grand finale show in November 2023, the TOP 12 songwriters will present their works in front of a live audience and a well-known jury of experts.
WHAT IS THERE TO WIN?
1st place – €3,000 plus production of the winning song in a recording studio.
2. Platz – € 2.000,–
3. Platz – € 1.000,–
There are also non-cash prizes.
The top 12 compositions will be produced on a sampler “My song for… a future worth living”.
