On the followingnoon of this Tuesday, September 19, the United States Geological Survey reported that around 04:16 pm an international earthquake that reached 5.6 degrees of magnitude was recorded.

The telluric event had its epicenter in Methven, New Zealand, and had a superficial magnitude, which is why it was more likely to be felt in the place of origin and in other nearby places.

At the moment the authorities have not reported any damage to infrastructure or human losses, but there are more than 10,200 reports regarding Genets from people who felt the impact, the majority throughout the South Island of New Zealand.

It should be remembered that the epicenter of the earthquake is near Christchurch, the city devastated by an earthquake in 2011. This earthquake was of magnitude 6.3 and caused a total of 185 deaths in February 2011.
