Latest Updates on Montparnasse Station Delays: Power Cable Breakage Causes Delays on Southwest Routes

Part of the traffic at Montparnasse station is slowed down this Sunday, September 25. The fault of a power cable breaking at the entrance to a tunnel, at midday near Massy (Essonne). All TGVs heading to or from the southwest are affected, i.e. the Paris-Bordeaux, Paris-Hendaye and Paris-Toulouse lines. France Bleu Armorique also notes delays at departure and arrival from Rennes and Quimper stations.

The delays posted by mid-followingnoon were up to six hours. But “the SNCF Réseau teams have completed the repair of the electrical installations. Power has been restored. Train circulation will be able to gradually resume”, indicated the SNCF before 6 p.m. However, the delays are expected to spread until late evening, according to a spokesperson. The railway company wants to be reassuring: no TGV should be cancelled.

On the SNCF site, at the end of the followingnoon, some trains were still two hours late, and up to 3:40 a.m. for a TGV leaving from La Rochelle.
