Vienna – The well-known restaurant guide Guide Michelin – which awards its stars to top chefs – is to return to Austria; according to the Tourism Committee in Parliament, a corresponding application has been approved in the committee. Tourism organizations are happy, the gastronomy trade magazine “Kalk & Kegel” sees this as a “lottery six for the tourism industry”. Criticism comes from “Falstaff” editor Wolfgang Rosam and Gault Millau editors Martina and Karl Hohenlohe, who see this possible Austria-wide comeback of the Michelin Guide as a “competitive disadvantage”.
