Whether Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Europe depends on the definition of the continent. The highest Alpine glacier, located in France, is definitely the highest mountain in Western Europe. But if the Caucasus is included, there are several peaks that are higher, most notably Elbrus. At 5,642 meters, it is the highest mountain in Russia.
