RIYADH: Expats who reach the post of driver can drive a vehicle in Saudi Arabia with an approved license issued from their home country. This was informed by the Saudi Traffic Directorate. Such people can drive in Saudi Arabia for a period not exceeding three months using their own country’s licenses. For this, a foreign driving license must be translated from an authorized center and carried with it.

There is also a condition that the vehicle driven by the foreigner arriving on the driver’s visa must have a corresponding license. A person who has a light vehicle license abroad can only drive the same vehicle in Saudi Arabia. Heavy license holders can also drive heavy vehicles.
