Unpleasant surprise this Sunday morning for the owner of a house undergoing renovation on rue de la Chapelle in Spy (Jemeppe-sur-Sambre). The strong gusts of wind which blew during the night from Saturday to Sunday caused significant damage around 5 a.m. The facade of his home literally collapsed, also bringing down the garage door.
It was shortly before 9 a.m. that firefighters from the Val de Sambre area were called to the scene. They secured the scene to prevent further falls of materials. Municipal workers from Jemeppe-sur-Sambre also intervened to install a security perimeter around the house. The electricity was cut off in the street while the various services intervened.
