Egyptian Hospitals Provide Medical Assistance to Wounded Palestinians from Gaza: Latest Updates and Preparedness

A Sky News Arabia correspondent confirmed that several hospitals in Egypt were prepared to receive the wounded coming from Gaza on Wednesday followingnoon.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that 81 wounded Palestinians from Gaza would be received to provide them with the necessary medical and treatment services.

On Wednesday followingnoon, a number of wounded Palestinians arrived on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing.

Our correspondent reported that the Egyptian Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, held a meeting today, Wednesday, with the ministry’s leaders, to follow up on the preparations for hospitals in North Sinai Governorate, and to follow up on developments in the map of confrontation and crisis management, in preparation for receiving Palestinian patients from the Gaza Strip.

The Minister followed up on the equipment of hospitals and health facilities, regardless of their affiliations, and the extent of their readiness to receive patients and provide them with the best health care. He directed that the capacity of the hospitals of the Ismailia Health Care Authority be increased to receive the injured and sick in a way that ensures their rational distribution among the hospitals to ensure that the necessary diagnostic and therapeutic services are provided to them to the fullest extent, in addition to Coordination with university hospitals in all governorates.

The reception and referral system to hospitals was also reviewed if necessary, and the availability of medical teams and necessary medical equipment in hospitals in Al-Arish, Bir al-Abd and Sheikh Zuweid in North Sinai Governorate, explaining that coordination had been made to receive the first 81 cases of injured and sick Palestinians to provide them with the necessary diagnostic, medical and therapeutic services.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that all bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population and the Egyptian Ambulance Authority were in a state of maximum readiness, as 40 ambulances were allocated to line up at the Rafah crossing.

During the meeting, the Egyptian Minister directed communication and coordination with civil society organizations in Egypt to provide the necessary care for the companions of the injured children who will be received in Egyptian hospitals, ensuring the provision of the necessary services to these companions.
