A group of 55 German tourists who were on vacation on the island of Mallorca, Spain consumed a total of 1,254 beers in less than three hours with the aim of breaking a record. The event took place in Platja de Palma, one of the so-called “drunken tourism” areas that the authorities are trying to eliminate.

According to the newspaper Mallorca Magazin, the participants organized themselves into WhatsApp groups without knowing each other beforehand, since they were on the island thanks to a trip organized by the owner of a local tourism agency.
The total figure was 1,254 bottles, an average of more than 22 beers per person, a number that exceeds all the limits of responsible consumption. In addition to the feat itself, the group spent a total of 2,838.20 euros to pay for the gigantic round of drinks.
