Dubai: Around 40 air-conditioned rest centers are being built in Dubai city for delivery riders. Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has come up with the project to increase road safety and reduce the chances of road accidents.
RTA helps those who work outside in the scorching sun to work ‘cool’ to deliver goods to customers as online orders are received. Delivery riders can use the rest stops while waiting for new orders and during breaks in the journey.
Providing comfortable amenities can help make delivery riders’ jobs less stressful, increase efficiency, and increase happiness. RTA also feels that they can be encouraged to obey traffic rules and regulations.
Thousands of delivery riders from Deliveroo, Noon, Talabat and other companies work in different parts of the city every day. Food and beverages products are mostly distributed. Bike riders can use these centers to rest properly when there is no order to deliver.
