Suddenly they are (almost) neighbors. 15 years ago, Robert Weber began to make a name for himself in Germany and gradually rose to become a red-white-red handball icon – his nephew Linus was just four years old. Uncle Robert is now helping HSG Bärnbach/Köflach with all his experience, nephew Linus has been supporting HSG Graz since the start of the season. “Linus is now 19 and I have been abroad for the last 15 years,” says Robert Weber, “and now that we are neighbors, I have already tried to go out to dinner with him twice. But I know what it’s like at 19. You don’t necessarily feel like going out to eat with your old uncle.” There’s a lot of insults going on within the Vorarlberg family, but on Saturday things get serious for 60 minutes: the cup duel between Bärnbach/Köflach and Graz (8.35 p.m., ORF Sport+ live ) will not only be a Styrian derby, but also an intra-family derby. Immediate duels cannot be avoided. “Linus is now of age, there is nothing left for him. “He didn’t spare me when I played basketball before,” says Robert Weber.
