Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo has died at the age of 35, 6 years following being diagnosed with brain cancer, according to the British newspaper “Mirror”.
The musician first appeared as the character Chris Harrington on the popular Australian series Home and Away in 2013, two years following appearing in the final of the X Factor in Australia.
A statement on his official Instagram account said: “It is with a heavy heart that today we had to say goodbye to our beloved Johnny. Surrounded by his partner and family, Johnny went peacefully with the support of some amazing nurses and doctors.”
The statement described Ruffo as a “very talented, charming and cheerful boy.”
The statement continued, “Johnny was very determined and strong-willed,” and that “he fought all the way to the end and fought as hard as he might.”
