Sunday November 12, more than 182,000 people marched in France during a march once morest anti-Semitism. A way of “show the Jews of France that they are not alone”. The day following this event, Elisabeth Lévy held controversial remarks in L’Heure des pros on CNews. The essayist declared: “Anti-Semitism which poses a problem for Jews generally comes from Muslims”.

A few hours following her declaration, Elisabeth Lévy went to the set of Do not touch My TV for a debate on the subject. She then faced Moundir, visibly very uplifted once morest her. “If you allow me Cyril, I would like to write a letter of apology, precisely, to Madame Lévy, me as a Frenchman of Muslim faith” he indicated before launching into a long speech.

Moundir appears very touched during his speech to Elisabeth Lévy

Determined to show Elisabeth Lévy that he does not tolerate her comments towards Muslims, Moundir wanted to remind her some historical facts. “Madame Lévy, we Muslims apologize. We apologize for having saved France during the Second World War (…) We apologize because the imam of the Paris Mosque, Abdelkader Mesli, who saved Jews from xenophobia, from the government . He sheltered them and declared them to the authority as Muslims to protect them (…) We apologize, because we went so far as to welcome and protect them in our country of origin and we opposed their deportation” did he declare.

The former candidate of Koh-Lanta appeared tears in my eyes to the enunciation of his text. He then ended with a well-known quote from Albert Camus: “Stupidity always insists”. For her part, Elisabeth Lévy pointed out to him that his remarks did not include “not all Muslims“. The debate then continued with other columnists on the set of Touche pas à mon poste.
