Sheynnis Palacios, representative of Nicaragua, was crowned this Saturday as the first Central American to obtain the title of Miss Universe in the 72nd edition of the pageant, which took place in El Salvador.
The new queen of universal beauty, who surprised the public and the judges with her charisma, received the crown from the American R’Bonney Gabriel, Miss Universe 2022.
Palacios, who said he considers humility and gratitude for the little things as his main qualities, won among 84 contestants who for a week participated in preliminary competitions in swimsuits, evening dresses and traditional dresses.

The Miss Universe contest, which was held for the second time in San Salvador, stood out for the “inclusion” and “diversity” of its participants, since it had two married candidates with children, two transgender women and a plus-size woman. , thanks to the change in rules that allows women in different personal situations to compete.
