A new USB worm called “LitterDrifter” was recently discovered and is believed to have been developed by the Russian hacker group Gamaredon, raising concerns regarding its rapid spread. This group, also known by various names such as Primitive Bear, Trident Ursa, Armageddon and Shuckworm, has been active since at least 2014. The presumably state-backed Gamaredon originally focused on Ukrainian targets, but with this worm it has – unintentionally or intentionally – expanded its radius of action.
