Books from the publishers Jung&Jung and Otto Müller are on the shortlist for the best German-language debut novel.

Two books from Jung&Jung-Verlag and one from Otto-Müller-Verlag are on the shortlist for the Rauris Literature Prize 2024. Since 1972, the award has been given in Rauris to the best first German-language prose publication of the year. The debut novel by Salzburg author Matthias Gruber, “The Loneliness of the First of Their Kind”, was nominated by the jury, as was “Alpha Bravo Charlie” by Tine Melzer (both Jung&Jung). Sophia Lunra Schnack’s debut “Feuchtes Holz” was published by Otto Müller. Also on the shortlist are Charlotte Gneuss with “Gittersee” (S. Fischer Verlag) and Sarah Elena Müller for “Image without Girls” (Limmat Verlag). The winning debut will be announced at the beginning of February.
