The 2024 Russian Presidential Elections: Cost, Candidates, and Logistics

The upcoming presidential campaign will cost 33.2 billion rubles. These figures were announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Committee of Russia (CEC), Nikolai Bulaev.

“To pay expenses for lower-level election commissions – 32.8 billion rubles, for federal executive authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense … – 170 million rubles. The expenses of the Central Election Commission related to the conduct of elections are 217.1 million rubles,” Nikolai Bulaev clarified during the commission meeting. He also added that funds in the amount of 20.8 billion rubles have been distributed separately for the regions.

Presidential elections will be held in Russia in 2024. They will take place between March 15-17. The candidate will be current head of state Vladimir Putin. On December 8, he clarified that he would be elected for a new term.
