WHO: Israel “bloodbaths” West Fa Hospital in Gaza

(AFP, Geneva, 17th) The World Health Organization (WHO) said today that the emergency room of Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza was severely damaged by Israeli bombing and faced “a bloodbath” and “required rescue.” .

Agence France-Presse reported that a WHO team and other United Nations (UN) agencies were able to deliver medical supplies yesterday to the West Fa Hospital, the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip in the Palestinian territory.

The WHO issued a statement stating that “tens of thousands of displaced people are using the hospital building and grounds as shelter” and there are “severe shortages” of drinking water and food.

“The team described the (Western Fa Hospital) emergency room as a ‘bloodbath’ with hundreds of injured patients and new patients arriving every minute,” the WHO said.

The operating room of West Fa Hospital cannot operate due to lack of oxygen and supplies. According to the WHO team, this is a “hospital in need of rescue.”
