— How did you decide to play for the Armenian national team? Because changing sports citizenship is not an easy story.
— It came smoothly, but I took it literally in one day. I waited until the last minute for a call to the Russian national team, or at least to get into the extended list. Again, I’m not talking regarding whether I deserved it or not, but there was an episode when I might have been added to those 30-40 people.
When I didn’t see myself there, I realized that they weren’t counting on me, that’s normal. There are no hard feelings. If I have the opportunity to play on the international stage for the Armenian national team, then why not take advantage of it? – Tiknizyan said on the Match TV channel.
