Matamoros, Tamps. Migrants empty the open-air camp in Matamoros and cross en masse towards Brownsville, Texas, following the tragic mishap in which a Venezuelan and a Haitian drowned and whose bodies have not been recovered, and are not even searched for by authorities of the two countries.
The tents and cardboard roofs were left alone along with the belongings of the foreigners who are crossing the river by swimming or on inflatable mattresses, since their wish is to spend Christmas Eve in the United States, where authorities begin a deportation process in case they do not meet the requirements to obtain humanitarian asylum.
In the migrants gathered in this open-air camp, desperation grew following the Venezuelan Carlos N and the Haitian Jackson Muscar drowned when they were regarding to reach the Texas shore, in events that were witnessed by hundreds during one of massive crossings.
