Muscat: Oman has condemned the US-Britain joint airstrikes in Yemen. The Omani authorities have stated that they are monitoring the developments.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman said that it condemns the military action of friendly countries in Yemen as Israel continues its bombardment, brutal war and blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that Oman has warned that as a result of Israel’s attack on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, conflict and clashes will spread in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Oman’s position to achieve security and stability in the region and to seek a just and comprehensive peace aimed at growth and prosperity for all. United States and Britain bombed ten places including Hudaydah and Sana’a in Yemen.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the bombing was to send a clear message to the Houthis that attacks in the Red Sea would not be tolerated.
