On January 16th, Cover announced the termination of the contract of “Yozora Mel”, a member of the VTuber group “Hololive” operated by the company.
Mel Yozora is a VTuber who debuted as a member of the 1st generation of Hololive and has been active for 5 years and 8 months. The YouTube channel “Mel Channel Yozora Mel Channel” has 878,000 subscribers and was conducting regular distribution activities on the channel until January 14th. The YouTube channel and membership are scheduled to close by the end of February 2024.
The reason for the contract termination is said to be due to contract violations such as information leaks. The contract was canceled with mutual agreement, and activities were suspended immediately. Regarding this decision, Cover CEO Motoaki Tanigo expressed his gratitude to Mel Yozora for her many years of work on X.
Regarding this matter, a stream titled “From Hololive 1st Generation to the Fans” is scheduled to be broadcast on the YouTube channel of Fubuki Shirakami, also a 1st generation member of Hololive, from 17:00 on January 16th.
