Madrid – Defending champions Real Madrid have been eliminated from the Spanish Football Cup. The Royals lost on Thursday in the round of 16 without the injured ÖFB captain David Alaba at city rivals Atlético Madrid 2:4 (2:2, 1:1) following extra time. This means that Real’s first title of the season is gone. FC Barcelona had only a few problems in their 3-1 win in the cup away to Unionistas Salamanca.
