Salzburg’s comeback from a 4-0 deficit came too late.
The Eisbullen’s celebration of the 4-1 win once morest leaders KAC only lasted for a short time. On Friday, the ice hockey champions suffered a 3:4 defeat at the Innsbruck Haien. One man took down Salzburg almost single-handedly: League top scorer Kevin Roy scored all four Innsbruck goals.
The Canadian gave the guests their first cold shower following just 45 seconds. The Bulls were completely out of control for a third and a half, Roy increased the score to 4-0 almost at will – and keeper Atte Tolvanen prevented an even greater deficit.

The boys stayed calm and finally scored,” explains head coach Oliver David. “It’s a shame that we mightn’t score the third goal in the strong final phase of the second period, so it was very difficult to go into the final third with a two-goal deficit, and unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get a point. There was So there are some positives, but at this point in the championship we have to fight for every point.”
The opportunity to do better and write once more will be available on Saturday (7.45 p.m.), when Salzburg play their second game in Bozen within 24 hours.
