After Covid and the explosion of the Orpéa scandal, following the publication of the “The Gravediggers” investigation, nursing homes had suffered. Lack of transparency, lack of trust: the occupancy rate of residences for the elderly had declined in a few years. “It was 95% before the pandemic, we fell below 87% followingward. Today, it is on the rise once more, exceeding 92%” rejoices Jean-Christophe Amarantinis, president of the National Union of Establishments, residences and private home help services for the elderly (Synerpa). The latter organized a press point on Wednesday January 24 with the evocative title: “Two years of reconstruction: regaining confidence, financing model and transformation of the sector”
