A pick apparently thrown by Daiki Tsuneta (31) of the popular rock band King Gnu into the audience during a concert was resold at a high price by the 25th, sparking outrage from fans.
King Gnu is currently on a 5-dome tour. The venue is packed every day and remains as popular as ever.
On the flea market app Mercari, the pick Tsuneda threw at Vantelin Dome Nagoya was put up for sale with the caption, “This is the pick I got when a capsule flew at me in the SS seats at the Nagoya performance.” It was sold out for 33,333 yen with a note saying, “We’re sorry for putting it up for sale” and “All proceeds from tickets, merchandise, and first limited edition scratches will be used for King Gnu.”
Tsuneta himself harshly criticized the reselling of personal items thrown into the audience seats on Instagram, and the person who sold the picks was flooded with criticism online.
People online are saying things like, “It makes me really angry to think that this guy got a pick,” “Don’t be silly, are you going to go to a wildebeest concert with the resale money? Don’t be silly.” “It’s usually an heirloom, and it’s going to be the most precious thing of all.” It’s supposed to be. It’s sad.” “If you’re a true fan, it’s clear that it’s not something you can sell for around 30,000 yen. I’m begging you, so I really hope you don’t come to the concert.” “I want to go to King Gnu’s concert, but I don’t have the money → Tsuneta-san. One following another, comments such as “If I sell guitar picks, I can go! This way of thinking is scary.”
