Several automakers have invested in hydrogen how ocfuel for the cars of the future. Now, the Honda and General Motors (GM) announced an agreement to produce a next generation of cell systems for both companies’ cars.
According to information from the news agency Reuters, o cell system will be used in the production of some vehicles at a factory near Detroit, in the United States, and the first units would have already been delivered to the facility.
The partnership between the automakers generated a joint venture, uma joint enterprise. Initially, production of fuel cell powertrains will be relatively small, with around 2,000 units of the system manufactured per year by 2025.
Some light and heavy vehicles already in production or that will be launched in the coming months should be the first to receive the fuel cell powertrains. GM must bring the systems to Autocar brand trucks.
