Dubai: Want to spend the weekend on a water cruise? Here is Abra waiting for you in Ajman at Dh2. On this trip you will have the opportunity to enjoy views of the natural scenery and mangroves near the Ajman Creek and the famous Al Zorah development. The journey also connects four marine stations. The Ajman Transport Authority said the Abra service is available seven days a week.

∙ Ajman Abra Route:
1. Al Safiyyah. The station is located at Ajman fishing port in the Musharraf region.

2. Al Rashidiyyah. The station is near Ajman Fish Market in Ajman Free Zone. The Fish Market and Harbor are directly accessible from Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street.

3. Al Sora: Abra station is located at Al Sora Marina. It is a popular outdoor venue along the creek. It also offers views of the mangroves located in Al Sora Natural Reserve.

4. Al Marina: This station is located on Ajman Corniche at the end of Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Street.

∙ Ajman Abra Ticket Price:
A ticket costs Dh2 per person to travel from one station to another. This fare is excluding Al Sora station. If you are leaving or arriving at the station, the fare is Dh2.50.

∙ Where to buy Abra tickets?:
Tickets can be purchased from the station counter. There is an option to pay the fare by cash or by using Ajman’s official public transport card ‘Mazar Card’.

∙ Timeline:
• Al Safa – Weekdays 8am to 10pm. 8 am to 12 pm on weekends

• Al Rashidiya – Weekdays 8am to 10pm. 8 am to 12 pm on weekends

• Al Zorah – Weekdays 8am to 10pm. 8 am to 12 pm on weekends

• Al Marina – Weekdays 3pm to 10pm. 4 pm to 12 am on weekends.

∙ Features of Abra:
It is a traditional indigenous water travel system. If you want, you can say that it is a boat made of wood. But there is a shade at the top to prevent the passengers from getting sunburned. It is an important part of the country’s heritage. Abras also operate the Deira Creek-Bur Dubai route in Dubai. Abra is a favorite of both regulars and tourists as it is the cheapest mode of travel to Catate for sightseeing.

Abra services are operated by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority. The fare for this journey is only one dirham. Thousands of people use this service every day. There are mainly four Abra stations on both sides of Dubai Creek. The RTA claims that the Abras carry around one lakh passengers, with around five thousand trips per day. Abras also offer private rides by booking at a rate of Dhs 100 per hour. Apart from the traditional abras, there is also a water bus service.
