The three round tables, brought together urgently in less than a week, will not have been enough. The next weekend of SNCF vacation departures will be largely disrupted by a strike by controllers, called by SUD Rail and the CGT Cheminots, from this Thursday evening until Monday morning. The railway company, which managed to save Christmas, will communicate its traffic forecasts this Wednesday. If it will ensure “continuity of service”, in the words of CEO Jean-Pierre Farandou this Tuesday morning on RTL, the disruptions promise to be significant.

SUD Rail anticipates “between 70 and 80%” of strikers on certain TGV axes, in particular on the South East axis which serves, among others, the Alpine ski resorts. “Management has not been able to respond to our demands and calm the anger,” says Julien Troccaz, SUD Rail federal secretary.
