Moscow – After the prison administration announced on Friday that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was dead, there have already been initial international reactions to the news. EU Council President Charles Michel paid tribute to the deceased as a “fighter for the values of freedom and democracy”. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reacted with the words: “Nawalny paid with his life for his courage.”
