The favorite band of the most famous favorite bands is back. Bokassa have already toured with rock and metal greats such as Metallica, Judas Priest, Baroness, Therapy? and Mastodon, were nominated for a Norwegian Grammy and even reached the top 20 at home with their last album. Nevertheless, they place the successor under the fading light of resignation – whether due to political, social and systemic deficits or, clearly with a wink, because it hasn’t yet been enough for a private island in the Pacific. Purely musically distributed „All Out Of Dreams“ However, there are a lot of ass-kickings non-stop.

“Let’s Storm The Capitol” has everything it takes for a dirty Bokassa hit, sarcastic title and steel edges included. Once once more, the trio moves on the imaginary border between rock, metal and punk, only to unleash an anthemic, larger-than-life chorus out of nowhere to shout along to. You can’t escape these three minutes. “Garden Of Heathen”, for which Sick Of It All legend Lou Koller was brought in, is also strong. Suspended riffing, huge mosh passages and a main part that lets the engines roar come together – familiar, in the best sense, and yet so fresh.

The final “Crush (All Heretics)”, on the other hand, has a much doomier aspect, relies on a ponderous groove and sets the resignation of this record to music damn well. The dark vocals alone are mind-numbing, and the touch of clear vocals in between serves as a silver lining. Red Fang’s Aaron Beam appears on “Bradford Death Squadron” and adds a certain something to the already wonderfully destructive track. On the other hand, “The Ending Starts Today” has everything it takes for a raucous anthem. The delicate, shy singing in the chorus can still surprise.

After a little over half an hour it’s over once more – far too soon – but Bokassa completely tidy up in this short amount of time. No filler material at all, just steam hammers and larger-than-life hymns, that’s how this new neck-snapping can be summed up. “All Out Of Dreams” continues the chosen path, is even more catchy without daring to compromise on heaviness. There are melodies in abundance, almost always accompanied by dirt and damnation. In this impressive form, Bokassa remains a hot stock.
