A serious road accident involving a vehicle and a heavy truck forced the complete closure of Route 155, in the Trois-Rives sector, north of Shawinigan, in Mauricie.
The collision, described as “major” by the Sûreté du Québec, occurred around 9 a.m., near kilometer 63 of Route 155.
Local firefighters used extrication pliers to free the driver from the passenger vehicle. He was conscious while being transported to the hospital, authorities said.
Route 155 has been completely closed to traffic until further notice.
