Espace Saint-Ravy is pleased to host the Au Chaud exhibition which presents the work of Isik artist Deniz Bayazit from March 2 to 24, 2024. The presented series constructs a place of protection transcending time and nature. death through different mediums such as the recycling of images or embroidered fabrics.

Series Warm begins on a farm in Fabrègues during the artist’s architectural studies. There she discovers a proximity to death which resonates within her and gives her the need to create a protected space.
She writes there:
“There were 3 white puppies on the farm; this week, their number dropped to two. Apparently the farmer put the tractor into reverse and ran over the third of the brothers. On the farm, where death was considered natural, this incident did not create a great atmosphere of mourning. After all, dogs were just another animal on this farm, just like goats, sheep, and pigs, which were dwindling every year. […] The night on the farm is silent, cold and lightless. I dream of my house, lit by yellow bulbs where the cooking vapors give off scent and warmth. »
Through the reuse and superposition of images, Isik Deniz Bayazit summons spaces populated by his twin sister, his deceased cat Diyez, stray animals or even settings from his childhood, which defy the rules of time and natural laws .
The artist uses collage as a form of ecological research, but also as a way of weaving memories together and giving life to the inanimate. Inspired both by the color of the Fauvists, by the ornamental floral treatment of art nouveau and by the compositions surpassing reality of magical realism, the works of Isik Deniz Bayazit create a space out of the world, safe and at home. shelter from mourning.
