Two dogs locked and abandoned in a car for more than 12 hours were saved by police who released them in a pitiful condition.
The story took place in Dijon in the Burgundy region of France, when last Monday the two canines were found trapped shortly before 11 p.m. in an abandoned vehicle.
Surveillance camera images revealed that the vehicle in question had been parked on rue Pasteur since 10 a.m., more than 12 hours before the police intervention.
The police then had to smash the car window to recover the two animals which were “very weakened” and in a “poor condition”, as reported by France Bleu.
The small canines were transported to a veterinary clinic before being entrusted to a Dijon SPA shelter, while awaiting a possible foster family.
As for the owner of the two doggies, he is now the subject of legal proceedings for pet abuse, the French media also added.
