While the mid-range market has been flooded with releases, notably with the Redmi Note 13 series, and more recently the Nothing Phone (2a), these two new devices also have the task of succeeding the Galaxy A54 and A34, which count among the South Korean brand’s bestsellers in 2023. The manufacturer is therefore determined to establish itself once more by offering two products in the wake of the previous generation, while adding some welcome improvements.

Many points in common

The A35 and A55 adopt a design inspired by the Galaxy S24 and their “Key Island” allowing a more ergonomic layout of the power and volume buttons, and both benefit from a 6.6-inch Super Amoled screen with a rate of 120 Hz refresh rate and brightness announced at 1000 cd/m². If other brands have chosen plastic, Samsung has equipped its two terminals with a glass back, while the frame of the A35 remains in polycarbonate. This undoubtedly explains the difference in weight, since this device displays 209 g on the scale, compared to 213 g for the A55 and its brushed metal frame.

Concerning the photo part, these two new Galaxy present a triple module composed of a 50 Mpx sensor for wide-angle, and 5 Mpx for macro. It is on the side of the ultra wide-angle and the front camera that the difference is notable. While the Galaxy A55 benefits from a 12 Mpx sensor and a 32 Mpx selfie camera, its little brother makes do with 8 Mpx for ultra-wide-angle and 13 Mpx for selfies.
