The by-elections for 21 seats of the National and Provincial Assembly across Pakistan are going to be held on April 21. In this regard, the Election Commission of Pakistan has already appointed returning officers and given them the powers of magistrates.
According to the schedule issued by the Election Commission, polling will be held on April 21 and campaigning will close on April 19 by midnight.
The said elections were originally scheduled for 23 constituencies. However, the results of two of these seats, one provincial and one national, have been declared. Asifa Bhutto Zardari was elected unopposed from NA 207 Shaheed Benazirabad while Zubair Ahmed Junejo was elected from PS 80 Dadu.
Elections are also going to be held in NA-8 Bajaur where independent candidate Rehanzeb was shot dead a few days before the elections. His son Mubarak Zeb is contesting for this seat as an independent candidate.
