The Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, AJ. Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, announced this Tuesday the creation of the General Staff for Penitentiary Carewhich will strategically address the needs of the population, to “guarantee procedural speed.”
“The General Staff will be made up of the citizen security and penitentiary system bodies to ensure respect for the human rights of its population”Ceballos reported from the facilities of the National Experimental University of Security (UNES).
He also stressed that this joint effort will allow for a comprehensive approach to the Penitentiary System, as it is geared towards preventing and addressing adverse situations that may arise in these facilities.
The minister also denounced an alleged plan to “alter” the country’s penitentiary system and generate destabilization.
He indicated that They already have advanced investigations and names of those supposedly involved who want to disturb the peace of the country by means of prisons.
