Instant payment system pilot phase: 11 banks in Burkina Faso participate

therefore, Monday, August 12, 2024an additional sixty-five (65) participants joined the pilot phase, bringing the total number of participating institutions to ninety (90), including sixty-seven (67) banks, nine (9) Electronic Money Institutions (EMEs) and fourteen (14) Decentralized Financial Systems (DFS).

As a reminder, this pilot phase will allow BCEAO to test interoperable systems and participants to ensure that their systems operate according to the defined specifications, an important step before opening the service to the public.

The new interoperable instant payments infrastructure operates continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is capable of processing transactions of any nature, regardless of account type.
