by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

For their return to their Matmut Atlantique stadium, the Girondins snatched a draw (2-2) this Saturday at the very end of the match thanks to a headed goal from Andy Carroll. The club’s star recruit equalized in the 87th minute, against the Voltigeurs de Chateaubriant, for the 6th day of group B of the National 2 Championship.

Trailing 2-0 at half-time, Bordeaux managed to come back to snatch a point thanks to a double from the former England international (9 caps, 2 goals), with a first goal in the 72nd minute. With this result, Gérard Lopez’s club has three points from four matches (it has two games in hand) and occupies 15th place, the penultimate in the standings of its N2 group.
